Career
Navneeth Gireesh embarked on his career journey in 2009 as an Audit Intern at MS Shah in Nairobi, Kenya. Here, he delved into bookkeeping duties, analyzing financial data and ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
The following year, in 2010, he continued his audit training as an Intern at PKF Eastern Africa. In this role, he worked within an audit team, focusing on client projects in Nairobi. He collaborated with management to implement risk-based approaches to verify internal controls and reviewed financial data to ensure accuracy.
Gireesh expanded his experience in 2013 by serving as a Career Coordinator for the University of Manchester Accountancy Society. He liaised with accounting firms to organize career events and develop sponsorship packages for the university.
In 2014, he took on the role of Training Coordinator for the Manchester Model United Nations Society. Here, he was responsible for organizing training sessions, educating new delegates about Model United Nations procedures, and providing public speaking training.
His internship at UNHCR in Budapest, Hungary, in 2014, provided him with insights into finance operations within the United Nations. He gained skills in spreadsheet management, data organization, and learned about refugee projects and International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
