Nani, aspiring to become a director, got drawn into the world of movies during his undergraduate days, with Mani Ratnam being a significant influence. However, he initially found a different path into the industry when producer Anil Kumar Koneru offered him a role as a “clap director” for the film “Radha Gopalam” in 2005. This marked his entry into the Telugu film industry.

After his stint as a clap director, Nani worked on several films, including “Allari Bullodu” (2005), “Astram” (2006), and “Dhee” (2007). He briefly paused to work on a film script and then took up an opportunity to work as an RJ for a year, hosting a program called “Non-Stop Nani” on World Space Satellite.

His breakthrough came when director Mohan Krishna Indraganti noticed him in an advertisement and offered him a role in the film “Ashta Chamma” (2008). This film received positive reviews, with critics praising Nani’s performance.

Following this success, Nani appeared in several films, including “Ride” (2009) and “Snehituda…” (2009), with varying degrees of success. However, it was his role in “Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu” (2010) that garnered significant appreciation from both critics and audiences.

In 2011, Nani’s career took a significant turn with the release of “Ala Modalaindi,” a romantic comedy that became a blockbuster hit. His performance received widespread acclaim, establishing him as a bankable actor in Telugu cinema. He also made his debut in Tamil cinema with “Veppam” in the same year.

The following years saw Nani delivering notable performances in films like “Pilla Zamindar” (2011) and “Eega” (2012), both of which were commercial successes. His versatility as an actor was further showcased in films like “Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu” (2012), where his performance was highly praised despite mixed reviews for the film.

Despite facing commercial fluctuations with films like “Paisa” (2014) and “Aaha Kalyanam” (2014), Nani continued to receive acclaim for his performances. He bounced back with the success of “Bhale Bhale Magadivoy” (2015), which became one of the highest-grossing Telugu films at the time.

In the subsequent years, Nani delivered successful films like “Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha” (2016) and “Gentleman” (2016), further solidifying his position as a leading actor in the industry. Despite some setbacks, Nani’s consistent performances and versatility have earned him a significant fan following and critical acclaim.
