Nani, aspiring to become a director, got drawn into the world of movies during his undergraduate days, with Mani Ratnam being a significant influence. However, he initially found a different path into the industry when producer Anil Kumar Koneru offered him a role as a “clap director” for the film “Radha Gopalam” in 2005. This marked his entry into the Telugu film industry.

After his stint as a clap director, Nani worked on several films, including “Allari Bullodu” (2005), “Astram” (2006), and “Dhee” (2007). He briefly paused to work on a film script and then took up an opportunity to work as an RJ for a year, hosting a program called “Non-Stop Nani” on World Space Satellite.

His breakthrough came when director Mohan Krishna Indraganti noticed him in an advertisement and offered him a role in the film “Ashta Chamma” (2008). This film received positive reviews, with critics praising Nani’s performance.

Following this success, Nani appeared in several films, including “Ride” (2009) and “Snehituda…” (2009), with varying degrees of success. However, it was his role in “Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu” (2010) that garnered significant appreciation from both critics and audiences.
