Career

Hocane began her career as a theater artist before becoming a VJ at ARY Musik. She appeared in several Pakistani television serial dramas such as “Aahista Aahista,” “Ik Tamanna Lahasil Si,” and “Nikhar Gaye Gulab Sare.”

Her Hindi film debut came with the romantic tragedy “Sanam Teri Kasam” opposite Harshvardhan Rane. In this film, she portrayed the character of a South Indian librarian named Saru. Critics praised her performance, noting her ease in slipping into the demure character.

In 2018, she made her Pakistani film debut with the romantic comedy “Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2” alongside Fahad Mustafa. This film became the second-highest-grossing Pakistani film worldwide. Hocane’s portrayal of a spoilt young heiress was well-received by audiences and critics alike.

From 2018 to 2019, she appeared in the period drama “Aangan” based on Khadija Mastoor’s novel of the same name. Hocane played the role of a resilient girl navigating through bitter experiences in love.

In 2019, she portrayed the character of Sunehri, a juvenile and bubbly girl, in the drama “Daasi.” Her performance as a headstrong and ambitious university student in “Sabaat” earned her dual nominations for Best TV Actress at the 20th Lux Style Awards.

In 2021, she played the title role of a victim of domestic abuse and marital rape in “Qissa Meherbano Ka.” This was followed by her portrayal of Zimal Riyasat, a determined philanthropist, in “Neem” in 2023. Later in the same year, she appeared as Rishtina, an innocent teen discovering the world after spending twenty years of her life in a basement, in Kashmiri’s directed “Nauroz.”

Aside from her acting career, Hocane has established herself as a leading Urdu television actress and has worked as a model. She ranked 6th in the “HIP Top 10” list in 2016 for her strong and vocal personality. Hocane has also modeled for various designers and brands and serves as an ambassador for brands like Glow & Lovely and Lay’s.

In June 2019, she launched her clothing line named “UXM” in collaboration with her sister Urwa Hocane. Additionally, in 2022, she launched her own YouTube channel named “M Live.”
