Career

Before stepping into the film industry, Sherawat appeared in television commercials alongside Amitabh Bachchan for BPL and Shah Rukh Khan for Hyundai Santro. She also starred in music videos like Nirmal Pandey’s “Maar Dala” and Surjit Bindrakhia’s “Lak Tunoo.”

Her debut in films was a small role in “Jeena Sirf Merre Liye,” where she was credited as Reema Lamba. However, she gained attention with her appearance in the 2003 film “Khwahish.” In 2004, she starred in “Murder,” a film inspired by Hollywood’s “Unfaithful.” Her bold performance earned her critical acclaim, and she received a nomination for Best Actress at the Zee Cine Awards.

In 2005, Sherawat ventured into international cinema with the Chinese film “The Myth,” alongside Jackie Chan. She made waves at the Cannes Film Festival, garnering attention from the media.

Her role in the 2006 film “Pyaar Ke Side Effects” earned her praise within the industry, with critics acknowledging her performance. In 2007, she appeared in “Guru,” performing the song “Mayya Mayya,” and made a guest appearance in “Aap Ka Suroor – The Real Love Story.” Her performance in “Welcome” was highly acclaimed.

In 2008, Sherawat starred in “Ugly Aur Pagli” and “Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam,” both of which failed to perform well at the box office. She appeared in item numbers in several films and made an appearance in the Bollywood release “Double Dhamaal,” which fared moderately.
