Career
Mahek Chahal did her schooling at a Norwegian-medium school in Oslo, Norway. After completing her studies, she moved to India to pursue a career in acting. She got her first break in 2002 in the Telugu film Neetho, where she played the lead role of Shalini. Unfortunately, the film did not succeed at the box office. Before her appearance in this feature film, she acted in several short films, including Jindey (2000), Dil Te Maar Gayi (2001), Chakde Bolly (2001), and O Vekho (2002).
In 2003, Mahek made her Bollywood debut with the comedy film Nayee Padosan, portraying Pooja Iyengar. Besides acting, she also worked as a model and walked the ramp for numerous fashion designers.
In 2011, she took part in the reality TV show Bigg Boss Season 5 and became the first runner-up. That same year, she participated in the Norwegian reality show Fristet. She also ventured into comedy, participating in the reality show Kahani Comedy Circus Ki in 2011.
In 2015, Mahek participated in several reality shows, including Bigg Boss Halla Bol, Killerr Karaoke Atka Toh Latkah, and Power Couple along with her boyfriend, Ashmit Patel. In 2016, she appeared on the comedy show Comedy Nights Bachao.
