Career

Kalyani Priyadarshan began her journey in the film industry in 2013 as an assistant production designer for the Hindi film “Krrish 3.” She later worked as an assistant art director in the Tamil film “Iru Mugan” in 2016.

In 2017, Kalyani made her acting debut in the Telugu film “Hello,” opposite Akhil Akkineni. Despite receiving positive responses for her performance, the film did not fare well commercially.

The following year, in 2019, Kalyani had three film releases. She appeared opposite Sai Dharam Tej in “Chitralahari,” which was a commercial success despite mixed reviews. However, her other two releases, “Ranarangam” and “Hero,” opposite Sharwanand and Sivakarthikeyan respectively, did not perform well at the box office.

Kalyani ventured into Malayalam cinema in 2020 with “Varane Avashyamund,” opposite Dulquer Salmaan, where she received praise for her portrayal of a young woman. She also appeared in a segment of “Putham Pudhu Kaalai,” where her performance was applauded for seamlessly capturing the past and present.

In 2021, Kalyani starred in the Tamil film “Maanaadu” alongside Silambarasan, which was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful. She then appeared in the Malayalam film “Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea” opposite Pranav Mohanlal, which received mixed reviews.

The year 2022 proved to be a significant year for Kalyani’s career. All three of her releases were successful, starting with “Hridayam” opposite Pranav Mohanlal, followed by “Bro Daddy” opposite Prithviraj Sukumaran, and “Thallumaala” opposite Tovino Thomas.
