Career
In 1959, Farida Dadi appeared in the song “Ek Do Teen Char Aur Paanch” from the film “Kaagaz Ke Phool.” She also had a few dialogues in the movie. Later that year, she got her first big break in the film “Sujata,” playing the young version of the character essayed by Nutan.
In 1961, Farida was seen in “Kabuliwala” as Amina A. Khan. She continued to act in various films, appearing in “Dosti” in 1964 and in “Devar” as Munni M. Singh in 1966. The following year, she featured in “Ram Aur Shyam.” In 1968, she was part of the cast in “Brahmachari.”
Many years later, in 2007, Farida played Mrs. Elizabeth Tripathi in the film “Dhol.” In 2009, she appeared in the hit movie “3 Idiots.” In 2015, she was in “Rahasya,” and in 2018, she acted in “Jalebi.” More recently, in 2022, she appeared in “Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva.” Farida also worked in films in other languages. In 2019, she appeared in “Jijaji Chhat Per Hain,” in 2022 in “Appnapan – Badalte Rishton Ka Bandhan,” and in 2023 in “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.” Farida Dadi also explored web series, appearing in “Haq Se” as Shagufta in 2018.
