Career

Divine embarked on his music journey in 2011, starting as an underground rapper. His introduction to hip hop was quite unique – it all began with a T-shirt. A friend at school sported a 50 Cent album T-shirt, sparking Divine’s interest in the genre. This same friend handed him his first MP3 CD filled with hip-hop tunes, marking the beginning of Divine’s passion for rapping. His musical influences include 50 Cent, Nas, Tupac, Eminem, Big L, and Rakim.

Breaking into the mainstream scene came after the release of his track “Yeh Mera Bombay.” The turning point happened at the Blue Frog Festival in Mumbai in 2014, where Divine’s performance caught the attention of Sony Music. This led to a contract, and his song earned the Best Video of the Year award by Rolling Stone India.

Divine’s journey to success wasn’t always smooth. He worked hard to make a mark in the industry. Following his initial triumph, he dropped the viral hit “Mere Gully Mein” featuring Naezy on April 16, 2015. The song garnered attention from Bollywood celebrities and went viral on social media.
