Career
Dinesh Phadnis made his debut in the Marathi film “Bharla Ha Malavat Raktan” in 1993. He entered Bollywood with a role in the Aamir Khan starrer “Sarfarosh” (1999), playing a Crime Branch SI. In 2000, he had a cameo appearance in the song “Mela Dilon Ka” from the film “Mela.” The following year, he played an officer in the film “Officer.” He also appeared in the film “Super 30,” starring Hrithik Roshan. Besides acting, Phadnis has worked as a scriptwriter for a Marathi film and several Hindi films.
In television, Phadnis started his career in 1993, portraying a police inspector in the Hindi TV series “Fasale.” He gained widespread recognition for his role as Inspector Fredericks in the TV show “CID,” where he worked from 1998 to 2018. This show aired on Sony Entertainment Television, and he also co-wrote some episodes with Sriram Raghavan, the director of the film “Agent Vinod.”
In 2006, Phadnis appeared in some episodes of the horror TV series “Aahat,” also broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television. He made a guest appearance in the courtroom drama TV series “Adaalat” in 2012 and appeared in the Hindi sitcom “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” in 2014. In 2019, he played Constable Shambhu Tawde in the TV series “CIF,” which was broadcast on Dangal TV.
