Career

In 1997, Diana Hayden began her career by participating in the Miss India 1997 pageant, which she won. This victory paved her way to represent India in the Miss World 1997 pageant held in Seychelles, where she competed against 86 contestants from around the globe. During the final question-answer round, she impressed judges and audiences alike with her response, citing William Butler Yeats’ quote “With Dreams Begin Responsibility” as her inspiration for wanting to become Miss World. Her eloquence and thoughtful answer earned her the coveted title of Miss World 1997.

At the Miss World 1997 pageant, Diana also clinched the titles of “Miss World – Asia and Oceania,” “Miss Photogenic,” and “Miss Spectacular Swimsuit,” making her the only contestant to win three subtitles in any Miss World pageant.

In 2006, Diana made her acting debut in the South African film “Othello: A South African Tale,” portraying the character Emilia. She later ventured into Bollywood with her debut film “Tehzeeb,” where she played the role of Sheena Roy.
