Career

Rahul Roy Tijori started his acting career in the early 1990s with notable roles in Bollywood films. One of his first significant appearances was in Mahesh Bhatt’s romantic drama “Aashiqui” (1990), where he portrayed the protagonist’s friend. His hand gestures in the film became widely popular among the youth of that time.

He went on to play minor roles in films like “Afsana Pyar Ka” (1991) and “Kaun Kare Kurbanie” (1991). Tijori continued to collaborate with Bhatt, appearing in supporting roles in “Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin” and “Sadak” in the same year. “Sadak” was loosely based on Martin Scorsese’s “Taxi Driver” (1976), where Tijori played a character killed by a pimp.

In 1992, he featured in Abbas–Mustan’s thriller “Khiladi” alongside Akshay Kumar, followed by a notable role in Mansoor Khan’s “Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar” (1992), where he portrayed the successful cyclist Shekhar Malhotra. His performance in this coming-of-age sports drama was well-received.

Tijori produced and played his only lead role in the Gowariker-directed murder mystery “Pehla Nasha” (1993), alongside Pooja Bhatt and Raveena Tandon. However, the film received poor reviews and did not fare well at the box office.

Over the years, he appeared in various films, including “Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa” (1994), “Anjaam” (1994), “Naajayaz” (1995), and “Mrityudata” (1997). Tijori played supporting characters in films like “Ghulam” (1998) and “Baadshah” (1999). He continued his acting career with roles in films like “Vaastav: The Reality” (1999), “Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge” (2000), and “Popcorn Khao! Mast Ho Jao” (2004).

In 2003, Tijori made his directorial debut with the adult film “Oops!” and later directed films like “Fareb” (2005), “Khamoshh… Khauff Ki Raat” (2005), and “Tom, Dick, and Harry” (2006). His thriller “Fox” (2009) faced delays and received negative reviews upon release.

Tijori’s television career includes appearances in serials like “Bombay Blue” and producing thriller serials such as “Saturday Suspense,” “Khauff,” “Dial 100,” and “X-Zone.” He also ventured into reality television as a contestant on the first season of “Bigg Boss.”
