Career
Husain initially pursued a career in banking but found himself unfulfilled. Around the age of 30, he transitioned to the performing arts.
In 2005, he teamed up with Mahmood Farooqui to revive Urdu storytelling, known as Dastangoi. Later, in 2016, they developed Qissebaazi, a form of multilingual storytelling. Husain is associated with The Hoshruba Repertory, his theatre company based in Mumbai.
Husain has appeared in various feature films, including “Dhobi Ghat” (2010), “Peepli Live” (2010), “Newton” (2017), and “Soorma” (2018). He has also showcased his acting talent in television series such as “Taj Mahal 1989” (2020), “Mai Hero Boll Raha Hu” (2021), and “Bard of Blood” (2019).
