Career

Ashika’s acting career took off after being chosen by director Mahesh Babu during a Clean and Clear Fresh Face Bangalore contest. She made her debut in supporting roles in films like Mass Leader alongside Shivrajkumar, Mugulu Naga with Ganesh, and Raju Kannada Medium, all of which were commercially successful. Her performance in these movies was well-received, earning her a nomination for the Best Debutant Actress at SIIMA.

Her breakthrough came with the lead role opposite Sharan in Raambo 2, a commercially successful film. Her electrifying dance moves in the song “Chutu Chutu” became a sensation, making it the first Kannada song to surpass 100 million views on YouTube. She continued to make an impact with roles opposite Ajay Rao in Thayige Thakka Maga and a special appearance in the song “Pataki Poriyo” in Kotigobba 3 with Kiccha Sudeep.

Ashika’s performance in Madhagaja opposite Sriimurali earned her the SIIMA Best Actress in a Leading Role award for her portrayal of a village girl. She also made a special cameo appearance in the titular song of the movie James, which was Puneeth Rajkumar’s last film.

She ventured into Tamil cinema with Pattathu Arasan alongside Atharva, playing the role of a Kabaddi player. In 2023, she made her Telugu debut in Amigos alongside Nandamuri Kalyanram, followed by another Telugu film titled Naa Saami Ranga opposite Nagarjuna, which was commercially successful.
