Career
In 2002, when she was 19, Dandekar moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in entertainment. She began as an anchor on MTV’s House of Style and later hosted several shows for the network, including MTV Dance Crew, MTV Teen Diva, MTV News, and MTV Love School.
In 2003, Dandekar made her acting debut in Bollywood with “Mumbai Matinee” and continued with “Viruddh” in 2005, where she starred alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Sharmila Tagore, and John Abraham. Her performance in “Viruddh” earned her the Best Debut Award at the Maharashtra Times Awards in 2006. She also appeared in “Anthony Kaun Hai?” in 2006 and made her Marathi film debut in “Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha” in 2012.
In 2008, she won the Best VJ award at the Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Female Awards. She later became a judge on “India’s Next Top Model” alongside Lisa Haydon. Additionally, she mentored on the same show in 2017.
Dandekar made her music debut in 2012 with the single “Better Than Your Ex.” She has appeared on the covers of magazines like Cosmopolitan, Elle, and Seventeen, and has endorsed brands such as Reebok, Toni & Guy, Crocs, and Lee Jeans.
In terms of her filmography, Dandekar has appeared in movies like “Hello” (2008), “City of Gold” (2010), “Lalbaug Parel” (2010), “Delhi Belly” (2011), and “Bhavesh Joshi Superhero” (2018). She also has upcoming projects such as “Baap Manus” (2023) and “Juna Furniture” (2024).
