She began her acting career in the late 1990s with roles in Hindi and regional language films. Some of her early works include “Jayate” in 1997 and “Hamam fi Amsterdam” in 1998. Over the years, she appeared in various films in languages such as Odia, Bengali, and Hindi, including “Jai Sriram” in 1999 and “Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence” in 2001, where she made a special appearance in an item song.

In 2002, she continued her career with films like “Wrong Number” in Odia and “Top Somrat” in Bengali, a Bangladeshi film. Her breakthrough came with the Hindi film “Tauba Tauba” in 2004, where she portrayed the character Rubina. She also made special appearances in other Hindi films like “Blackmail” and “Ab Bas!” the same year.
