Career
In 1983, Singh made her debut in Hindi cinema with the romantic drama “Betaab,” alongside Sunny Deol. The film was a success, setting the stage for her subsequent hits like “Sunny” (1984), “Mard” (1985), and “Saaheb” (1985). She formed successful on-screen pairs with actors like Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, and Raj Babbar, as well as Jeetendra, Vinod Khanna, Anil Kapoor, and Amitabh Bachchan.
Singh showcased her versatility by playing leading roles in films like “Chameli Ki Shaadi” and “Naam” (both 1986), “Khudgarz” (1987), and “Waaris” (1988). Additionally, she portrayed supporting negative roles in movies such as “Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman” (1992), “Suryavanshi” (1992), and “Aaina” (1993), for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.

She also starred in “Flying Jat” (2016) and “Hindi Medium” (2017), showcasing her versatility.
In 2019, Singh reunited with Amitabh Bachchan in Sujoy Ghosh’s “Badla,” earning widespread critical acclaim for her performance and garnering a third Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
