Career

Simran Kaur Mundi started her acting career in Bollywood with the film “Jo Hum Chahein” in December 2011. Although the film received a lukewarm response at the box office, Mundi’s performance was appreciated positively. She then ventured into Punjabi cinema in July 2013 with “Best of Luck,” starring alongside Punjabi superstar Gippy Grewal and Jazzy Bains. The film had a successful opening and went on to become one of the top-grossing Punjabi films at that time.

In September 2013, Mundi made her debut in Telugu cinema with “Potugadu,” opposite Telugu movie star Manoj Manchu. The film received a blockbuster opening upon its release. Continuing her Bollywood journey, she appeared in “Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi,” released in May 2014, produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures and Bejoy Nambiar.

She had to manage promotions for both “Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi” and “Mundeyan Ton Bachke Rahin,” her Punjabi film released on the same day. Next, she starred opposite comedian Kapil Sharma in “Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon,” directed by Abbas Mustan.

Apart from her film career, Mundi ventured into television hosting. In January 2011, she participated in the reality game show “Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout,” hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. She also hosted the first-ever Hockey India League in January 2013. In 2019, she co-hosted the Saturday Morning Live Show discussing NBA basketball matches aired on Sony Pictures Networks India.
